Pork belly with jasmine rice (Lotus Rice)
Pork Belly with Jasmine Lotus Rice is a unique dish that embodies the rich flavors and aromas of Asian cuisine. This harmonious combination of ingredients, such as succulent pork belly, delicate jasmine rice, and intense ginger and garlic pastes, creates an unforgettable feast for the palate.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tsp House of Asia Ginger Pastes or 30 g grated ginger root
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Garlic Pastes or 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 200 gr Jasmine Lotus Rice
- 1 kg of raw bacon
- 1 bunch of chopped spring onions
- 1 red onion, sliced into strips
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
SOS:
- 6 tablespoons House of Asia Light Soy Sauce
- 2 tablespoons House of Asia Dark Soy Sauce
- 3 tablespoons House of Asia Rice Vinegar
- 300 ml of water after cooking the bacon
A METHOD OF PREPARING
- Cook the rice according to the instructions.
- First cut the bacon into 1,5 cm thick slices, then into pieces of about 2 cm.
- Place the bacon in a pot, cover with cold water, and cook until tender, about 60 minutes. Remove the cooked bacon from the water and place in a bowl. Don't throw away the cooking water; it will be useful for the sauce.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl, if it is too salty add more water.
- In a wok, melt the sugar until it caramelizes. Then add the bacon, onion, spring onion, garlic paste, ginger paste, and the sauce, and simmer until it evaporates. Serve with rice.
